Let’s Move US is a nonprofit that helps people with disabilities find adaptive sports and recreation programs. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell what we collect or use it for advertising.

In short

  • No cookies and no tracking across sites. Visiting this site leaves nothing in your browser that identifies you, so we don’t ask you to accept cookies.
  • We count visits and clicks to improve the site, with our own analytics service, which nobody else can see.
  • Searched locations are kept only as a city, state or ZIP code, never a street address.
  • The map is provided by Google, which receives what you search for and your IP address.
  • We may share overall figures, like how many people used the site, with sponsors and supporters. Never information about an individual visitor.
  • You can turn analytics off below.

What we count when you visit

To learn what helps people find programs, we count:

  • the pages you visit, and which site or campaign link sent you here;
  • what you do with the map and the program search: the filters you choose, the words you type into the program search, which programs you open, and when you ask for directions or visit a program’s website;
  • the area you search in, kept only as a city, state or ZIP code;
  • general facts about your visit: your browser, device type, screen size, language, and the country, region and city your internet connection appears to come from.

What you type into the program search is recorded as you typed it, so please don’t type personal information there. The location search box is different: whatever you type there, we keep only the city, state or ZIP code.

To tell visits apart, our analytics service computes a code from your IP address and browser that changes every month. It isn’t stored in your browser, it can’t follow you to other websites, and we don’t know who you are from it. We don’t keep your IP address itself, and we don’t log it when the analytics script loads.

We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool, running on our own server in the United States. The data stays with us: we don’t sell it, use it for advertising, or share information about individual visitors with anyone. We may publish or share overall figures, such as how many people used the site or which kinds of programs they looked for, in reports for sponsors, supporters and our newsletter. Those figures are totals, never details about a person, and we leave out any number small enough to point to someone.

Turning analytics off

You can stop your visits from being counted in this browser. When you do, the analytics script isn’t loaded at all.

Turning analytics off needs JavaScript. Without JavaScript, the analytics script doesn't run either, so your visits aren't counted.

We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising, so a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser doesn’t change anything here. To stop your visits being counted, use the button above.

The map and directions (Google)

The map, the location search and directions are provided by Google Maps. To show them, your browser sends Google your IP address, what you type into the location search, and the part of the map you’re looking at. Google’s use of that information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and the map by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.

If you use your current location, your browser asks your permission first. Your location goes to Google to show nearby programs and directions. We keep only the city or ZIP code it falls in, as described above.

Contacting us

When you send the contact form, it is delivered to our email by Web3Forms (privacy policy). It carries your name, your email address, your message, and the options you choose on the form. We use them only to reply to you.

Sharing buttons

The sharing buttons on blog posts are plain links. Nothing is sent to Facebook, X or LinkedIn unless you click one, and then that site’s own privacy policy applies.

Program listings

The programs in our directory are public information about organizations, supplied by the programs themselves and by our volunteers, and reviewed before they’re published. If a listing about your program is wrong, or you’d like it removed, contact us.

Volunteers and staff

If you sign in to our staff area, we use cookies to keep you signed in. They’re needed for the staff area to work.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, and our program database runs on Amazon Web Services, both in the United States. Like any web host, they process your IP address to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse.

Children

This site is for adults, including parents, guardians and caregivers looking for programs for children. It isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, tell us and we’ll delete it.

Your choices and questions

We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising. You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at info@letsmoveus.org or through the contact form. Our analytics can’t be linked to a person, so there is usually nothing in it we could find for you.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
